The new Nokia 2.2 is the successor to the previous year’s Nokia 2.1. This is Nokia’s budget-oriented line up which is mainly aimed at the people in India. The base variant of the Nokia 2.2 that comes with 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of internal storage is available in the market right now for about 6,999 rupees while the variant with 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of internal storage is available in the market for 7,999 rupees. The phone comes with a compact design, dewdrop notch, no fingerprint reader and a 300 mAh battery.

A feature that the Nokia 2.2 has that might give it an upper hand over its competitors. The phone is an Android one smartphone meaning it is prioritized to all the latest Android updates. But with phones like the Redmi 7 in the market, is the Nokia 2.2 worth buying? Well, here’s our full review for the new Nokia 2.2

Design and Display

The Nokia 2.2 packs a rather quite simple design. The phone weighs about 153 grams and feels a little bit premium in hand even though its mostly plastic. The back is a big fingerprint magnet with a glossy finish. The Phone is available in two colors namely tungsten black and steel. The right side of the phone houses the volume rockers and the power button while the left side of the phone has a dedicated Google Assistant button that cannot be remapped. The button does support single press and press to hold functionality. You can get a great discount on electronic devices using Flipkart Coupons.

The back of the device houses the single camera and the LED flash. Also at the bottom of the device is the android one logo and the stereo speakers. It has been a long time since any phone placed their stereo speakers at the back. Most of the phone these days come with front-facing speakers or with speakers that are located at the bottom of the phone around the charging port. speaking of charging port.

The Nokia 2.2 comes with a micro-USB charging port which is kind of common in budget-oriented smartphones. The front is all screen with minimal side bezels. The top chin on phone is also thin. It has dewdrop notch in the center that houses the front-facing camera while the bottom chin is big. Big enough that it houses the Nokia logo but at this price range the big chins are just not of concern.

Talking about the Display, the display is 5.7 Inches IPS LCD panel with a resolution of about 720 x 1520 pixel and a 19:9 aspect ratio. The screen is certainly not the best suit of the Nokia 2.2 but again this is a budget smartphone and we can’t a better screen at this price point. There is no mention of any protective glass-like the gorilla glass around the screen but one can always use screen protectors.

Performance and Interface

The performance on the Nokia 2.2 is pretty mediocre, the phone runs on MediaTek Helio A22 chipset which frankly speaking is just okay. The phone should get most of your day to day work done smoothly but there will be some lags. You can forget about playing decent games on this device as the device runs on a PowerVR GPU. if you’re looking for a phone with which you can play games and not worry about lag we suggest you put a little more money and purchase either a Redmi or a Realme smartphone. A good thing about the Nokia 2.2 is its interface.

The Nokia 2.2 is an Android One device running on Android 9 Pie out of the box. Since it’s Android One, the interface of the device is close to stock. There are minimal to no Bloat wares on this device and even though the base variant of the Nokia 2.2 comes with a 2 GB of RAM. The phone does most of the things smoothly because of its light-almost close to the stock android type of OS. The phone comes with either a 16 GB of storage and 2 GB of RAM or a 32 GB of storage and 3 GB of RAM but you can add expandable storage in this device up to 400 GB.

Camera and Battery Life

There isn’t much to say about Nokia 2.2’s camera. It’s not the best in this price range but it does the work. The phone comes with a 13 MP primary camera with autofocus and a 5 MP front-facing camera. In addition to this if you are looking for Himachal Pradesh – HPPSC Recruitment then it could be best chance to try it.

The battery life on the Nokia 2.2 is also pretty mediocre. The houses a 3000 mAh battery and supports 5 W charging. You should get about a day’s worth of battery life, so nothing fancy here either.

Verdict

The Nokia 2.2 is a budget-oriented smartphone. We suggest you buy this phone if you’re looking for something close to stock android. But if you’re after better performance, a better camera and willing to live with custom UI’s on top of android. We suggest you look for a either a Redmi or Realme device that is available in this price range.
